One little word...

He speaks, and it happens.
At one time He said "Let there be light" -- and there was light.
There was no delay, no hesitation... the light came... simply because of the Word spoken.

Again He spoke "Let there be trees" -- and there were trees.
I see them today - they stand majestically outside my window and testify of His Word.

He speaks to you, yes, today.  Faith is believing that Word and depending on the Word only to do what it says.

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven , and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it my give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isa. 55:10-11

How shall it be accomplished?  By my own efforts? No... By my trying and hoping God will fill my lack? Never... The Word, that is the thing that shall accomplish it. The Word and the Word only.  Believe the Word, receive the Word, cling to the Word and it will never fail.  It is the only thing that will accomplish that which God pleases - and the Word is Christ - Christ in you the hope of glory.

And what about the other side? Sin, self....

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him...

If that's the power of one Word, what about the over 774,000 He has given us?
This is power... this is victory!

Have you laid your life on the Word?

He Giveth More Grace

Take a moment to ponder a beautiful song...

He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father's full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

                           -- Annie J. Flint

We serve a God of much mores
Where I think there is a limit - He always has much more.

Are you troubled, sore, and tempted?
How much grace do you need?
God has much more, far above all that you could ask or think, and He gives it free...

...yet, it costs everything.

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."  Eph. 3:20-21

Let your light shine

We were burning brush today... it was the dead wood that caught the flame.

Simply a choice...

If there is one thing that my heart is most closely knit too, it is the cross of Jesus Christ. It is my all and has become the passion of my life ever since I chose to place myself upon that tree. Nothing hurts me worse than to see the cross despised or its meaning diminished. I cringe at how it has merely become a symbol among the common Christian and so very very few have ever experienced it themselves. I have found no greater joy than in letting everything go, to trust His guiding hand. No greater peace is mine then in shaking this cup empty and allowing my Creator to fill it overflowing. I would shrink from living if I could not die – all of me, my every thought, word, and action, my likes and dislikes, my ideas, goals, dreams, plans and everything that gives me an identity – letting Him live, letting His Word fill the void left over.

So simple right? Not I but Christ. Yet so very few understand. I have seen many who want to give up all, who try to give up all, but seldom have I met those who choose to give up all right now, right here. I've found its a choice – a choice of freedom.

"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." Galatians 6:14

All Things are New

Have you ever wished for the sweet love of Jesus? Does it ever seem hard to do what is right? Do you ever relate with the experience that "to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do."? But then have you realized that this is only the experience of the carnal life, sold under sin, but that the grace of God is so much more powerful?

It can never be repeated too often that under grace it is easier to work the works of righteousness than when under sin, it was to work the works of unrighteousness. For grace is simply that much more powerful than sin. For the power of God is that much more powerful than the power of the devil. What victory! Here is the theme of Romans 5,6

God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. MUCH MORE then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved...
MUCH MORE being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
MUCH MORE the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
MUCH MORE they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
But where sin abounded, grace did MUCH MORE abound.

How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is FREED from sin.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God...
For sin shall NOT have dominion over you.
Being then made FREE from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
But now being made FREE from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, ALL things are become new. And ALL things are of God... (2 Cor. 5:17,18)

Praise God for His unspeakable gift of GRACE. Let us not receive the grace of God in vain, for if one died for all then were all dead, that they which live should not heneceforth live unto themselves, but that the life of Christ might be manifest in human flesh.

This is conversion, that it is no longer I that live, but Christ that liveth in me. It is free to all, to any who would believe on Him.

Remember, ALL things are new, and ALL things are of God...
